We're off to Alaska!

I hadn't taken a vacation since November 2007, and I was overdue for one. But where to go? There are so many places that I want to go to that I often have a difficult time choosing...which means that I end up not choosing and not taking a vacation. So for this vacation, I just forced myself to choose without weighing it against my master "vacation wish list." After seeing a documentary about global warming at the SF International Film Festival and seeing the Nova episode "Extreme Ice" on the impact of global warming on glaciers, I decided that I needed to see the glaciers in Alaska before they all disappear. We're not much on cruises, so we cobbled together our own itinerary...
